God says, commenting on the story of Jesus in the Holy Qur’an, the meaning of which is:
"And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger. They slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! Those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain." (Surah 4. 157 An-Nisaa)
THE WASHINGTON TIMES reported in its newspaper dated April 6th, 2006 an article entitled Judas stars as 'anti-hero' in gospel, by Julia Duin . The National Geographic Society (NGS) unveiled ancient codex of the Bible that were found in AL-Menya in Egypt. This codex dates back to the beginning of the third century after Christ and that in this bible named "The Gospel of Judas," Judas was considered among the disciples of Jesus and the Coptic history says that he was the man who betrayed Jesus and that Moslems say that God changed the face of Judas to be like that of Jesus, that is, gave him the countenance of Jesus, who was to be crucified instead of him. The newly found Bible was mended after being found ten years ago and it was translated from the Coptic language into English in 2005 and this translation was released on April 6th this year. It is now sold in bookshops .Before the end of Jesus’ message this Bible recorded the following text, as the news paper states, ‘Near the end of the Judas gospel, Jesus tells Judas he will "exceed" the rest of the disciples "for you will sacrifice the man that clothes me." ‘
This text means that Jesus addressed Judas in the Bible that is ascribed to him(Judas) saying to him that he will be the man who will "exceed" the rest of the disciples and that he will be the man who will be sacrificed (clothes me) . What really makes me wonder is the failure of the translator to translate the word that is synonymous to “to clothe” in the original text of the codex as the words in the holy Quran. These words in the holy Quran could be best translated as "but it appeared so unto them”. God says in the holy Quran, the meaning of which is:
“And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger. They slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! Those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.”
Thus, God reveals that the person who was crucified was Judas, not Jesus, and this is contradictory to what the Christians believe. And if the Christians allege that the Bible of Barnabas was composed after the advent of Prophet Mohammed, here is another codex that the carbon and the papyrus used confirm its oldness and that it was written before the third century after Christ, as the newspaper itself states, that is three centuries before the advent of the message of Islam.
Did God give the countenance of Jesus to Judas for his betrayal? Or did he sacrifice himself for the sake of Jesus? In fact the holy Quran did not show this but the Christians say that Judas betrayed Jesus and hanged himself later …this Bible states that it was a sacrifice from Judas for the sake of Jesus ….only God knows.
They testify against themselves, and God and the believers testify against them. "They slew him not nor crucified him."
